Golden milk is a traditional indian drink from the Ayurvedic tradition. It's commonly drank when a person is feeling under the weather or just needeing a boost. There are many variations in the traditional drink, depending on taste, who is making it, and what spices might be available.
I first tried golden milk while living in Chicago in my 20's, at my favorite Indian buffet. I was hooked from that moment on, just from the taste and the cozy feeling of drinking it. At that time, I had no idea that golden milk was packed with anti-inflamatory and immune supporting herbs. At that point, I couldn't get enough, and set out to make my own perfect golden milk.
To create this golden milk, I added the traditional anti-inflamatory herbs (turmeric, ginger and black pepper) but then added cardamom, vanilla bean powder, date sugar and ghee powder to balance the taste and make it even more tasty!
